Build-Your-Own TM
Factory Style DOT Stainless Brake Line Instructions

Slide the female fitting over the -3 hose as shown and cut in between the black dashes marked on the hose with a side cutter or scissors.

Insert the -3 hose fully into the male fitting until the black dash completely disappears beneath the insertion edge.

While firmly grasping both the hose & male fitting, push the banjo or manifold fitting (without lubricating) through the male fitting & into the hose. You will then be able to screw the banjo’s threads into the internal threads of the male fitting. The banjo threads will go past the male’s internal threads & disengage.

This allows the banjo to temporarily spin free until the completion of Step 4 so that the banjo’s rotation can be adjusted. Finish by screwing the female fitting over the male. (finger tight)

The following two checks will insure the successful completion of Step 3:

1. Make sure that the hose did not get pushed backwards by checking that the black dash on the hose is still under the male fitting’s edge.

2. The witness line on the shank of the banjo has disappeared into the end of the male fitting indicating full insertion.

Using the supplied Vice Wrench as shown, position the hex on the male fitting within the Vice Wrench hex.

Then using a 7/16” wrench, or prefer- ably a line wrench, thread the female fitting over the male fitting until the two hexes touch. WITHOUT stopping continue to turn in at least ONE FULL extra revolution to lock both fittings together.

STOP when the hex flats and corners of both fittings are in perfect alignment with each other for optimal appearance.

With this first end completed, loosely install the finished end of the brake line on the bike, route as desired and cut to the exact length for a perfect fit. Repeat steps 1-4.

Magnum “BYO” Build-Your-Own hose and components have been specifically designed to ONLY work in conjunction with each other. Use with other Magnum brake line products or other manufacturer’s brands will void any warranty, DOT, & liability claims.
